António Marques Pinto

President of the Association of Young Doctors of Portugal (AJOMED)

In addition to being President of the Association of Young Doctors of Portugal (AJOMED), Dr. António Marques Pinto is also the Interim President of the European Environment and Health Youth Coalition (EEHYC), the international body that represents young people from the 53 countries that make up the European Region of the World Health Organization (WHO), within the scope of the European Environment and Health Process (EHP). This is the first process to eliminate the most significant environmental threats to human health in the WHO European Region. In these roles he was the signatory, on behalf of all young people in the pan-European region, of the European Youth Declarations in Ostrava (2017) and Budapest (2023). (He was also the co-signatory of the Vienna Youth Position Paper 2021 in the context of the WHO/UNECE Pan-European Transport, Health and Environment Program (THE PEP)). Still in this context, in 2018 he was appointed member of the European Environment and Health Task Force (EHTF), and member of the Bureau of that same organization. The EHTF is the main international implementing and monitoring body for the EHP composed of senior officials from all Member States in the Region, and representatives from the WHO, European Union, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and many other intergovernmental organizations.
