António Pimenta Marinho

President of the Board of Directors of Health Regulatory Entity

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (1981), with a specialty in General and Family Medicine (FGM). He has covered all stages of the medical career, being a Senior Graduate Assistant for FGM at ACeS de Braga since 2000. He was the Training Advisor for the FGM specialization at the Medical Internship in 2002, 2012 and 2019 and also completed the Clinical Coding Course at the National School of Public Health (2019). At the Northern Regional Health Administration, among many other positions, he served as president of the Board of Directors, from 2016 to 2019, and as president of the Regional Commission for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescent’s Health, from 2015 to 2018. He was part of the Task Force responsible for implementing the Primary Health Care Reform in 2007 and 2008 and the Primary Health Care Reform Monitoring Team in 2009 and 2010. He taught at different Higher Education institutions in the areas of Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Management and Policies, Administration and Health Assessment, and tutored students at the School of Medicine of the University of Minho and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra. He presided over and was a member of several specialty juries in qualification competitions and Internship Final Assessment courses in the area of ​​specialization in FGM.
