José Mendes Ribeiro

José António Mendes Ribeiro, Economist, (ISEG, 1982). Experience in Administration of health units (Hospital da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa, Hospital de Santa Maria, CROSS and Grupo Português de Saúde. He is Executive Director of Walk-in Clinics Portugal SA. Responsible for the Healthcare area at Accenture (1995/2001) for Portugal, Angola and Brazil. Assistant to the Minister of Health of the XV Constitutional Government and President of the Mission Unit for the Entrepreneurialization of Hospitals (2002-2004). He chaired the Technical Commission for Hospital Reform (MS, 2011) and the Health Information Initiative (MS, 2014). He was a member of the Scientific Council of the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation. Lecturer in the Masters in Health Management, at the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon and in the Advanced Program in Public-Private Partnerships at FCEE (Catholic University). He is the author of the book “Health: the freedom to choose” (Gradiva, Lisbon, 2009).
