Alberto de Rosa

President of Ribera Health Group

Economics and Business Studies degree at the University of Valencia. Master’s in Business Administration at ESADE, Barcelona. Before joining the healthcare sector, Alberto de Rosa worked for Arthur Andersen and Mapfre,a leading insurance company in Spain. His first stage in the healthcare sector started in 1990, when he joined NISA group, a Valencian group of private hospitals. Afterwards, in 1994 he worked for Consultora de Hospitales (CODEH, a consultancy firm). In 1996 he joined Grupo Quirón as the Managing Director of the private hospital in Valencia. From there, in 1998, he moved to Alzira as the Managing Director of Hospital de La Ribera (Grupo Ribera) where he took on the challenge of leading the first privately-managed public hospital in Spain, and whose management model has nowadays become a world benchmark at a national and international level. In 2007, he took over the General Management of the Ribera group and later became CEO. In 2020 he became CEO for Europe and in November 2022 he was appointed Executive President of the company, his current position, with the objective of continuing the development of Ribera’s healthcare model. He is in charge of the company’s strategy, and the expansion of the model created by Ribera Salud, which is now present in several countries all around the world. Alberto has collaborated with Harvard Business School on the preparation of a case study focused on Ribera Salud. This project has been led by Professor Regina E. Herzlinger, as part of the annual start-up class.
